This article explains how to check if depositing tokens are supported on our platform.
Please take extra caution when depositing tokens by ensuring the coins are supported as there are many coins with similar names. Please note that not all tokens of the same name are the same as they are identified by their contract addresses. Contract address refers to the address location of the actual token contract that manages the logic for the tokens. A token contract governs and specifies the rules of a given token.
It is also important to note that tokens supported on different networks have different contract address. Please ensure that the network used to deposit is supported.
Examples of tokens with same/similar names:
1. MEME (Supported) vs MEME (Unsupported)
2. MEME (Supported) vs MEME (Unsupported)
Examples of tokens with supported on different network:
1. APE (Supported) vs APE (Unsupported)
2. GPT(Supported) vs GPT (Unsupported)
In order to check the contract address, click on Deposit > Select Asset to Deposit > Click on View Contract Address
The network supported will be as seen from the website. Example GPT opens up at Etherscan, meaning it is supported on the ERC20 network.
If you are unsure if the coin is supported, please reach out to contact our support team for further assistance.
NOTE: Poloniex is unable to recover any deposited tokens that Poloniex does not support or no longer supported on our exchange.
