Poloniex uses a sophisticated risk control model to ensure the smooth operation of the Futures trading system. In an effort to improve market liquidity, Poloniex is to adjust the risk limit tiers for the USDT collateralized perpetual Futures.
Risk limit tiers for each Futures trading pair are as follows:
Formula of risk limit: Open position + Net amount of orders (in the same direction as the existing position) <= Risk limit |

For example:
If user A, a Common user, is eligible to hold a maximum of 5,000 BTC perpetual Futures contracts on either side.
Now user A holds a 4,000-contract long position of BTC perpetual contract and placed an order to buy another 800 contracts. At this point, user A is allowed to buy up to another 200 contracts. Long exceeding the limit of 200 contracts will fail.
Meanwhile, user A is allowed to sell a maximum of 9,800 contracts (4,000+800+5,000=9,800) and go short. Selling 4,800 contracts will close his long position, and the 5,000 refers to user A's risk limit.
