What is USDT-TRON and USDT-ERC20?
USDT is a cryptocurrency issued by Tether, that is compatible with the Ethereum/ERC20 and Tron/TRC20 networks. Tether and Tron first announced a collaboration to list a USDT compatible with the TRC-20 standard in April 2019.
Poloniex also enabled ERC-20 based deposits and withdrawals for Tether (USDT), meaning customers can freely withdraw to their preferred network: TRON, or Ethereum. USDT markets on Poloniex will be unaffected.
How to Deposit USDT
1. Log into your Poloniex account and click on wallet. For your safety, always confirm that you are securely logged into Poloniex by reviewing the URL:
2. Upon arrival, click Deposit. After selecting USDT, you will be prompted to select a deposit protocol. There are 3 options: USDT-ERC20 or USDT-TRON or USDT-BEP20:
3. If you select Deposit on Ethereum, you will be able to select an ERC-20 deposit address:
4. If you select Deposit on TRON, you will be able to select a TRON deposit address:
5. If you select Deposit on Binance Smart Chain, you will be able to select a BEP20 (BSC) deposit address:
6. Use the matching network to generated an address for sending the coin to your Poloniex USDT wallet.
Please note that if you select ERC20 for generating your wallet address, you must select ERC20 network for the deposit, if you select BEP20 for generating your wallet address, you must select BEP20 network for the deposit, you might lose all your deposit if you choose BEP20 network for depositing to your ERC20 wallet address, vice versa. We no longer support USDT OMNI. Sending your USDT coins to an incompatible address may result in the loss of your withdrawal.

5. If you enter an USDT-BEP20 address, please select BEP20 for withdrawal of your funds.
6. Please note that if you select ERC20 network for withdrawal, and enter an USDT-BEP20 wallet address, your funds might not reach your receiving wallet, and will be most likely unrecoverable. Your USDT coins from the Ethereum layer is only compatible with your USDT-ERC20 address. Further, your USDT from the TRON network is only compatible with your USDT-TRON address.

Our system is able to identify the different types of address and will prevent one type of coin being deposited into the wrong type of address.
Can I deposit TRON to my USDT-TRON wallet?
No, USDT-TRON wallets are only compatible with USDT-TRON, and not with any other coin.
