Last month, we took a step towards repaying socialized losses from the CLAM incident that occurred in May 2019 and deposited a payment of up to 0.0047 BTC to every impacted customer with an outstanding loss. This payment resulted in over 25% of all impacted customers being fully repaid, and we are incredibly excited that almost 500 of those individuals have returned to Poloniex to continue trading on our world-class exchange. Today, we are following through on the next steps we announced last month to continue repaying customers.
First, earlier today, we credited impacted accounts with all lending fees incurred since June 6, 2019. That credit includes over nine months of lending fees and represents our appreciation for your loyalty and continued trading on Poloniex. Additionally, we are pleased to share that now over 1,100 customers have been fully repaid for their losses, with many more now even closer towards being fully reimbursed.
Second, beginning tomorrow and every day following, impacted customers will have all future lending fees reimbursed on an ongoing basis, until each and every one of you is made whole. This is in addition to our prior commitment to reimburse all spot and margin trading fees, which now means that all impacted customers will be reimbursed for ALL fees on ANY of their trading activity going forward until they have been completely repaid for their loss.
We remain committed to regaining your trust as well as improving our communication regarding this incident by providing on-going monthly updates, no matter how large or small. Please bookmark this section on our Help Center to stay updated on all of our past and future communications, and remember that you can always view the real-time progress of your repayment from the Wallet section of your Activity tab.
Thank you for sticking with us through this process. If you have any questions, please reach out to us and we would be happy to provide additional support.
