Poloniex has partnered with the decentralized gaming platform WINk to bring a fresh new crypto experience for our customers. From now on, you can access WINk games with your Poloniex account through the built-in WINk wallet.
See our FAQ below for how to get started, how this integration works, and for any other questions you may have!
What is WINk?
WINk is a “trustless, permission-less, and high-performance e-gaming platform on the TRON network.” WINk features a variety of games, ranging from slots to table games to sports betting. WINk has significant adoption in the crypto gaming space: 12.8k unique wallet addresses interacted with WINk in the past 30 days and $48.6M USD has been transacted in and out of WINk’s set of smart contracts in the past 30 days.
How does WINk connect to Poloniex?
WINk is able to connect to Poloniex through the recently launched Poloniex OAuth solution. OAuth is an open-standard authorization protocol that enables third party services to safely gain authenticated access to Poloniex services without actually sharing the credentials of Poloniex users with the third party. This process is similar to signing in to an application with one’s Google or Facebook account - when you do so, you are using Google or Facebook’s OAuth solution! WINk is a third party that has integrated with Poloniex through OAuth to expand the set of services that it is able to provide to its users.
What is the benefit of signing in to WINk using a Poloniex account?
WINk users currently have the option of funding their accounts via TronLink, a browser extension analogous to MetaMask on Ethereum. As a result of this, asset availability and funding options are limited and vary from game to game.
By integrating with Poloniex, WINk now has access to the deep catalogue of assets offered on Poloniex. With a Poloniex account, players can now game with their favorite assets, and they can easily fund their account using Poloniex’s fiat on-ramp.
What capabilities do I have when I sign in to WINk through Poloniex?
Once signed in to WINk with Poloniex, customers can access the following actions:
- Play WINk games using the selection of assets offered on Poloniex
- Transfer funds from your Exchange wallet to your WINk wallet (requires an email confirmation step - see below for more information about this process)
- Transfer funds from your WINk wallet to your Exchange wallet (see below for more information about this process)
- Deposit funds to your Exchange wallet
- Generate a deposit address so you can deposit funds
- Initiate a withdrawal (Please note you cannot withdraw from WINk directly - selecting this option will bring you to Poloniex to perform the withdrawal)
Note: Some of these capabilities require your consent to optional permissions. If you do not consent to the optional permissions, functionality will be more limited. See the section on permissions below for more details.
How can I login to WINk with my Poloniex account?
You can log in to WINk with your Poloniex account by visiting the WINk website, then clicking “Sign In,” and selecting “Sign in with Poloniex.” If this is your first time logging in to WINk with your Poloniex account, you will be asked to provide WINk with permissions to access certain elements of your Poloniex account. Periodically, you will be prompted to provide these permissions again upon signing in to WINk through Poloniex.
Does WINk gain access to any of my personal information, such as my Poloniex log-in credentials, when I sign in to WINk through Poloniex?
No, information such as log-in credentials are not shared with WINk when signing in to WINk with Poloniex. Only a limited set of information about your Poloniex account is shared with WINk, and you will be asked to consent to this information being shared before logging in. For more information about what information WINk gains access to when logging in to WINk through Poloniex, please see the section below on permissions.
What permissions do I need to provide to sign in to WINk with a Poloniex account?
Upon logging in to WINk with a Poloniex account for the first time, you will be asked to authorize WINk to access certain information about your account and take certain actions on behalf of you, the user.
The required permissions, which you must consent to in order to use WINk with Poloniex, are:
- Allow WINk to access your WINk wallet transaction history
- Allow WINk full access over the funds in your WINk wallet (including depositing and withdrawing to your WINk wallet)
Note: Consenting to these requirements will never provide WINk access to the transaction history of any other wallet, such as your Exchange wallet. Nor will consenting allow WINk to make any kind of transaction involving your assets in a non-WINk wallet.
There are also a set of optional permissions that grant you additional functionality if consented to. These optional permissions include:
- Allow WINk to read your wallet balances, addresses, and a limited deposit and withdrawal history.
- Allow WINk to generate new deposit addresses on your behalf.
Periodically, you will be prompted to re-consent these permissions upon signing in to WINk through Poloniex.
Can I revoke these permissions after providing consent?
Yes. At any point in time, you can visit your Settings and revoke WINk’s access to your Poloniex account.

What happens if my Poloniex account is closed or frozen? Can I continue to use my Poloniex account to sign in to WINk?
No. When signing in to WINk using Poloniex, WINk uses Poloniex’s account and wallet system. Just as you cannot transfer balance or deposit & withdraw funds while your account is closed or frozen, you cannot use WINk or transfer balances between your WINk wallet and your other Poloniex wallets if your Poloniex account is closed or frozen.
