Dear Poloniex users,
In order to better secure users' assets and improve their experience in wallet address management and API-based operations, Poloniex has launched a new address management feature—Withdrawal Whitelist. Details are as follows:
- A Withdrawal Whitelist has been added. When it is enabled, users can only withdraw funds to the whitelisted addresses, which provides an extra layer of protection for their assets. Please note that users need to complete 2FA before they can manage their withdrawal addresses and change the settings of the Withdrawal Whitelist.
- Users can now manage addresses in Wallet > Spot > Withdraw. They can select addresses from the address book or add new ones for withdrawal. When the Withdrawal Whitelist is enabled, users can only withdraw funds to the whitelisted addresses.
- The Withdrawal Whitelist improves security and convenience for withdrawals of API users, who can withdraw assets via the API to the addresses added to the whitelist; no additional security verification is required.
Where to find the Withdrawal Whitelist:
Web:
- After logging in, go to Profile/More Settings > Address Management;
- After logging in, go to Wallet > Spot > Withdraw > Address (icon on the right).
App:
- After logging in, tap the profile icon on the top left and go to Settings > Security > Withdrawal Settings.
Note: Please update your app to iOs v1.35.0 or Android v1.38.0 or later versions after Oct 24 if you need to use the Withdrawal Whitelist.
FAQ:
1. Why do some addresses disappear from my address book when I enable the Withdrawal Whitelist?
A: Users may choose any withdrawal address from the address book before they enable the whitelist mode. Once the whitelist mode is on, non-whitelisted addresses will be filtered out, and only the ones added to the whitelist will show in the address book. Note: Users may add an address to the whitelist at Profile/More Settings > Address Management.
2. With the Withdrawal Whitelist enabled, I cannot enter an address when withdrawing assets. Why is that?
A: Users are only allowed to withdraw assets to the addresses in the whitelist when Withdrawal Whitelist is enabled. Therefore, you can only choose addresses from the address book for withdrawals. If there is no address in the whitelist, please go to the settings of Withdrawal Whitelist and add addresses to the whitelist before proceeding with withdrawals.
3. I want to enable Withdrawal Whitelist in the app, but it says I need to turn on 2FA before enabling the whitelist. How can I turn on 2FA?
A: At present, users are only allowed to change the 2FA settings on Poloniex's website. Please click here to turn on 2FA.
